The Labor Story

AFTER (just in the last month)....

- many beyond emotional moments
-2 weeks of no lifting and not being allowed to really do anything (partial bed rest)
-major pain in areas not allowing me to walk very well at times
-swelling the size of an elephant
- turning purple from waist down
-a urinary tract infection
-a virus... at the same time as the uti
-feeling absolutely beyond exhausted from my uti, virus, no sleep, major allergies, and "pounded meat" insides, to find out I had two sick child ... so inside we stayed for a while (my neighbor even came over to check on us because he had not seen us at all for a while. He thought we have committed suicide and he thought he would find us dead.... true story!)
- contractions throughout everyday and a constant tightening for more than 3 weeks straight
-endless prayers
- hard labor contractions throughout my 36-38 week almost every night
- hip issues and major sciatic nerve
-3 plus weeks of being dilated to a 2 and no progression at all
- Convinced my water broke.... Fake out
-3 fake out pre-labors at home
-2 fake out labors at the hospital
-Another virus
- High protein levels

.......and finally after crying (OF PURE GRATITUDE) when my doctor told me he was going to induce me June 19th (5 days away at the time) Paige arrived....

Chloris came down Monday night to stay with Belle and Cash. Monkey and I headed to the hospital at 7am Tuesday morning and we waited for the whole process of poticin to begin at 10am. My same contractions that I have been feeling over the past month started coming regular... every 3 mins. After a couple hours I only progressed to a 3- so the nurse bumped my poticin up to a 8 and I sat for what seemed forever... My doctor came into check me and told me he would like me to get my epidural if I was going to get one before 5 when he came back to break my water if it didn't on it's own. So I was sitting there at a 4 and contractions every 2 mins and my nurse said the epidural guy is in the hall if you just want to get it now!!! I thought not for too long ...and said LETS DO IT!! So I got my epidural at a 4 and loved life! I seriously have had it and my body was so tired from the last month so I do not regret my decision at all.So epidural in, water broke, contractions went crazy....one on top of the other.... and all of a sudden I was at an 8 and then I felt such pressure and.... Paige was coming.... The nurse told me to hang on and don't push till the doctor came...which was at his home! My eyes almost popped out of my head... He is at home!!?!?! I hardly could hang onto Paige... The pressure was so extreme (that is a whole other ball park of pain I have never experienced even with my last two labors!) so I told Monkey, "No one is in THIS room and she IS COMING NOW!!! Get ready to catch her!!!" He panic strickened ran and washed his hands and raced back to catch her and then the doctor came in!! THANK HEAVENS~ I pushed 3 times and Paige was out!

There are not words to describe the moment you see a your new born baby for the first time! I couldn't even wait another second to hold her! It doesn't matter what is going on in the room it is only you and your baby! There is such a incredible feeling- No matter what I went through or was feeling all that mattered was Paige! I could not help but almost burst with joy! I am so in love with this little girl. She is so out of this world sweet. I got so worried at the hospital though. Paige came out so fast that all the amniotic fluid stayed in her stomach causing her to gag and throw up all day and night. She would turn and deep blue purplish color... and I tried everything to make her take a deep breath. Both nights at the hospital I had to just hold her real close- that is the only way she would fall asleep. Man I am a worrier- so you could imagine how I was! I finally got to go home- Ohh was I so happy to be home.  Paige had a rough day of crying and gagging but eventually she was able to get relief. She ate so good and fell fast asleep from 1am- to me waking her up at 8am! Now this child only cries when she is being changed or hungry... which is every 2 hours!!! I forgot how long and how much newborns eat! I am having a really hard time nursing. The lactation nurse basically said Paige is awesome at nursing I just have tender cells or whatever that is making it extremely painful to nurse (just like with Cash). So I just squeeze my eyes shut and wait for the hour feeding to end. It is so worth it though and it is getting a little bit better. I love after Paige is finished cause she gets this half smile and falls fast asleep! I love that and I am so in love with her!

First time...

After Paige was born I could not wait for Belle and Cash to meet her. I had no idea what to expect... were they going to like her? Or just not like her at all? So I anxiously awaited their arrival and called them 3 times to check how close they were to the hospital!

The kids walked into the room got up on the bed and I showed them their little sister. They died!!! They fell in love with her! Belle instantly became Paige's mother. "Mom put the blanket on her... Pat her back!" Cash just smiled! Cash decided I think he wasn't quite sure of Paige so he started going a bit nuts and climbing and jumping on everything! Trying anything to get a bit of attention. But he couldn't help but come back and keep giving her kisses and saying she is so cute!

I can't imagine how seeing Paige was for Grandma! It was so sweet... such a tender moment. Grandma Mullins gets three new litlte Grandchildren in the next month or so. I am so excited for her. I really appreciate Chloris so much. She helped me so much. She watched the kids while I was in the hospital, cleaned, cooked, did my laundry, and gave me the most incredibly beautiful flowers. I honestly can't express the gratitude I have for her. Through the last couple months of my interesting pregnancy she was always calling me to let me know she could come up to help me anytime. She is so willing to help and so kind I just admire her so much. We miss her in our home already!

It was such an amazing, peaceful, and overwhelming time at their visit to see their Paige! Overwhelming because I now have 3 children and I have no idea where to begin. When they left I kept thinking How am I going to do this? I don't know but I am excited to start!

Peachy Pigs

Finally it is time... we went April, we went May, and now June and Peachy Pig Farm is open!!! My kids have been asking and asking to go back to this farm since it closed last season! So you can imagine the excitement on these two little faces when we rolled up to the farm and it was open. We got out and they kids led the way... They showed me the chickens the size of dogs, the goose the size of the golden goose on Willy Wonka, the baby ducks, rabbits, and crazy hair rooster type chickens, and the spider webs that filled the ceiling and almost made made me faint! And then a little cat found us. This little guy followed the kids everywhere. Even up the hill to pick strawberries it came along. Cash was in love with it... "Come on kitty, come! ooo cute cat!" He kept saying! The berries were delicious. The raspberries were our favorite. Peachy Pigs had the most incredible flowers this year! Man I was sure soaking up it's beauty. We had so much fun, it started pouring so we all were running while  I was waddling as fast as I could to go to the little farm house store to buy some fresh honey. Don't you love that word... fresh! After being sick all weekend and finally getting out into the fresh air was absolutely what the doctor ordered! Well until Belle started screaming her head off because I took the bag of strawberries away because she wouldn't share... She kept yelling, "Mom you give those back their MINNNNNNNE!" All the way to the car! It was lovely! Haha Peachy Pigs we are glad you open!

Memorial Day

So how did we spend Memorial Day this year... we gathered up all our friends and had a big Sub picnic at the park. I just have to say I am feeling way grateful for the people in Forest Grove. Each one of them I feel would do anything for anyone at a drop of a hat. I really have come to love everyone up here. We have made some life time friends that is for sure. Memorial Day is such a special day.. Even though we didn't get to go to the grave sight this year I couldn't help but think of all the incredible in our lives and the incredible people I don't even know.
