Mullins Family

This last weekend we had the privilege of having Monkey's family come stay with us Thursday and Friday! They got to come because Rhett Monkey's brother who is going on a mission in November was going to go through the Portland Temple. We were so excited to have them stay with us. Belle helped so much with cleaning and helping me plan a yummy menu!  They got here Thursday morning and of course we headed to the beach. We went to a new beach called Ocean side and WOW it was breathe taking!

This man was my favorite thing about the beach! He was all dressed up in his Sunday best and wearing a sombrero! He looked like he was with his grandchildren- He was sitting in his chair flying a kite and his grand kids were just laughing and they looked like the were having the time of their lives! I know that is a little creepy that I was watching them but I learned a good little lesson- that life is good!  And it gets better with people you love, a little dressing up, and a sweet sombrero!

The day was spent playing football, soccer, wrestling (Caleb and Rhett... not the best thing to watch!! ha), drawing in the sand, laughing, Cash crying, and trying to get me way out in the ocean.... I hate sea animals... but I did it! Then we headed back home for a spaghetti dinner and watched Nacho Libre! It was hilarious having 12 people find a spot to sleep in our three bedroom home.. Cash, Monkey, and I were in my room. Belle was in the bathroom haha, Ariel and Quinton in one room, Caleb and Lexi in one room, Nate and Rhett on the floor in the dining room, and Chloris and Katrina on a air mattress in our living room! I love it.

Friday was the so special- We went to Olive Garden and ate the never ending pasta bowl and headed over to the temple. What an incredible wonderful experience. I kept thinking how Chloris and Mark, Monkey's parents were feeling... The almost had their entire family in there with them! 2 to go! I was so excited for the day that all my children will be there with Monkey and I. I am so grateful that we got to be a part of this with Rhett. I am so excited and happy for him! He is going to be such a effective and wonderful missionary!

"Garlic" Festival

There are so many festivals in Oregon! This one was crazy... A Garlic festival! Now I have never seen garlic used in so many different ways in my life. We ate garlic chips- that was a piece of garlic fried and dipped in hummus.which left our breathe and taste in our mouths awful! There was garlic fries, drinks, and ice cream. It was crazy.

The moment we arrived you better believe Belle had to get her face painted. The normal... a unicorn that is purple and pink. Nothing else! Cash was more entertained with all the blown up jumping toys. There was a car show and the kids seemed to like the train the best.
Bag Pipes... This made the festival. This young group were so good. I am so impressed with people who can play this instrument.

HEAVEN! Gyros! Monkey introduced me to Gyros and I am in love with them. Delicious!! I was so excited when I saw that they sold them. We were planning on spending no money- that didn't last long!

As we ate a band rocked out to some Elvis, Johnny Cash, and some other awesome songs. This band seriously was my style, The girl singer had such a gritty deep voice... which I love... I had a hard time composing myself, I wanted to dance around the whole place. Belle and Cash were cracking me up. They were dancing like crazy- which doesn't surprise me. Belle was shakin it so bad that her pants slipped off! We were all laughing so hard.

I have to say festivals are the place to be! I love the smells, sounds, and tastes of them! I am so grateful I married a person that doesn't get embarrassed when I run around like a little kid in a toy shop!!! Or doesn't get embarrassed when I break out and dance when the whole crowd is not dancing!! haha thanks babe!
