Question for Moms

For all you moms out there let me know if this is normal... So mostly during the night and some during the day I get this awful sick pain on lower right side of stomach. it's been going on for the last month but it was absolutely the worst last night... I wake up in totally pain, like i can't even sit, lay or stand! I get dizzy and i want to throw up and I almost cry hahah I know baby but I don't know! I was thinking it was Braxton Hicks so I researched it and I found this: Braxton Hicks contractions are typically painless and short, lasting only a minute or two. They can occur throughout your pregnancy, but typically strengthen in the last trimester. They tend to occur irregularly, and though uncomfortable, they shouldn't drive you completely crazy... So from this I don't have Braxton but maybe I do just an extreme case or something. Maybe it's just everything stretching, but it is only on one side... in the same place... I DON'T KNOW! I am going to call the doctor tommorrow but if anyone had this happen please let me know cause this pain never happened with Belle!! Thanks

If it's only on 1 side it's definately not Braxton Hicks. They are exactly like what you read, just a tightening of your stomach, but ALL over and usually painless. Does it feel like a sideache? If it doesn't, and it's constant I would probably ask the doctor about it. It's so hard to tell with pregnancy, cuz they say anything could happen! Lemme know how it goes and if you need help w/ something!

I know something similar sounding happened like this to another gal in the ward a few weeks ago (that week we had Addie). It hurt so bad she thought she was in labor or something, and when she went in the doc said it had to do with the baby's position and the muscles and it just gets really REALLY uncomfortable like that... maybe that's what it is? I have this one pain I always get in a certain spot on my left side, and the doc said it was probably a round ligament pain, maybe it's that too? Hope you can find out soon and that it's nothing to worry about! Let us know!!

It could be the position of your baby. Every time I would eat my stomach would hurt on one side. Sometimes depending on the shape of your uterus and the position of the baby you can get strange pains like that. Talk to you Doctor just in case. Strange things happen to us women;)

yeah, i have had pain like that I didn't wanna puke but i did feel like i couldn't move and it just plain hurt... i think it is the baby pressing on a nerve or something when he/she moves, i think as long as it goes away in a short amount of time and it doesn't occur to often or in a pattern of any type ur okay. try to remember how you are laying or what you were doing right before it happens and see if you can avoid doing that activity or laying that particular way and maybe it wont happen...

Even though your pregnant be careful that it's not your appendix. It could be appendicitis or something. Hopefully it's not, but that would be something that I would definitely check out asap.

it is not braxton hicks. like everyone said those kind of feel like you have a huge HARD soccer ball under your skin and they come and go come and go, i really felt them when i would got for a long walk. so i dont think that it is. i had the same pain yu are talking about towards the end with Jamison. and he was just sitting on a nerve and pinching it so i used a excerise ball and put my elbos on it and kneeled infront of it and roller in a circle not letting my tummy touch the ball and that normally would stretch it out and he would move, but yeah mine got so bad it hurt to sit and made me sick, but i would check with the doctor just in case!
