Candy, Bunnies, candy, egg hunts, candy, excitement, candy!!!! Growing up of course these things are what Easter was all about ...to me anyways... I tired to understand the whole spiritual part but candy and Easter bunnies was too exciting! Now this holiday has become so much more meaningful... It's become a day to really fill our hearts, homes, minds, attitudes with the spirit of Christ! Thinking of what my Savior did for me and for all of us makes Christmas and Easter my favorite holidays. I could care less for gifts... or candy now (thank heavens) all I desire to do is teach my child about the life of Christ. His Atonement and Resurrection especially. I hope I can even do it justice! I have found myself on Easter really evaluating myself and how I am living. I'm I living worthy to what the Savior did to me? The answer is always no... I make new goals for myself to try to become more like him. It's a "Work in progress" let me tell you!!! This Easter was extra special for us! We spent it over at Monkey's parents house! What love this family has for us and especially for our kids! I am overwhelmed with pure joy every time our kids see there grandparents or uncles and aunts! Belle and Cash run to them and hug them for what seems like hours. Chloris and Mark make them feel like they are the most sweetest and most precious people in the world. I know my kids feel it too, they can't stand being away from them the whole time we are there. We started out our weekend with a huge Easter egg hunt with the missionaries and some of their neighbors! Belle was freaking out, she could not believe that there was eggs filled with candy just waiting for her to find and me actually letting her eat it. Cash's mouth was in a "O" shape the whole time! I couldn't help but smile as Belle and Cash pulled Grandma and Grandpa all over the yard! Monkey and I didn't end up with much- we kept eating ours before it got in our basket. After our hunt we had a BBQ of hot dogs which to me tasted so heavenly!!! I felt like I have never eaten something so good. After everyone left Grandma and Grandpa gave Belle and Cash a very special Easter gift... CHICKS! Belle had her hand over her mouth in pure shock... she could not believe her eyes! She was so gentle with hers she hardly could touch it! Cash on the other hand not so much. Belle named her baby chick BellaHawkie! HAAHA and Cash finally ended up calling his Birdie! Chloris bought 12 chicks to lay eggs and I am so excited for the kids to come visit in the future because they will have their own BellaHawkie and Birdie to see! The rest of the trip thanks to everyone... I got to take it easy because of all my pregnancy stuff. I got to sit and watch! Which I really loved. I never done that before so I saw some very sweet moments.... Hayrides, climbing rocks, egg dying, petting goats and a 3 legged cat, seeing piglets, watching Belle smile from ear to ear throwing sticks to her favorite doggie Riley! Easter Sunday was rather interesting... Church is always interesting with a 3 year old and a 2 year old. For some reason Belle was just mad! But at least she did great in sacrament and her teacher said she was fabulous in class! Cash hahah not so much again! He almost had a heart attack when I left him in nursery! He was yelling and kicking and flipping out so they came and got me and he simmered down a bit. So we went outside instead because he wouldn't go in our class either- so we took Daddy/Son pictures! They turned out great and made me feel peace once again! After church Chloris went above and beyond and made a full on Thanksgiving meal- which as usual was delicious! Chloris you are fantastic! Thank you! We spent the rest of the day together and traveling back home where I went to bed at 9pm- I think because I had a head ache from Belle and Cash crying/wailing and pleading to go back to Gradnmas almost the whole 2 hours home!! I am so grateful that we have a Holiday centered around Christ! It makes you think about what is really important. I love that... Happy Easter Everyone!!!
