The Dalles Thanksgiving

Oh Thanksgiving!!! Where do I begin?!? We arrived at The Mullins home Wednesday evening- after a very long almost 4 hour drive to The Dalles... it should only take under 2 hours but traffic was crazy. But I am not complaining because when we walked into the Mullins house you could tell it was Thanksgiving... The smells wre awesome and a hot spaghetti dinner all ready for us! Thank you Chloris! Then as usually Chloris and Rhett were making pies from scratch. Chloris and Rhett are incredible cooks! Belle was having so much fun watching Rhett. I was coring the apples with their sweet apple peer corer thing and I was blown away on how cool it was!! I will core apples anytime with that thing. And to ruin the moment I was having with the peeler thing Mark and Monkey decided to whip out sardines and chow down.... SICK! Then Kaito there foreign exchange student from Japan who is so awesome gets his seaweed out and some how gets me to try some!! Yeah you could imagine how I felt... sick to my stomach with the smell of the sardines in my nose and raw fish taste in my mouth I almost chucked!! haha after that was over (thank goodness) we all had such fun night;playing car with Belle, laughing, making fun of each other, talking and staying up way too late! And I am still upset no one but Monkey ate at midnight with me! hahah Next year!

Thanksgiving morning the boys went and played football and sweet Chloris had a little Grandma time with Belle and went outside to play throw sticks to their dogs Riley and Buddy! Belle loves dogs and is terrified of dogs at he same time. I looked out the window and got so thankful that I married into such an amazing family! I love the Mullins so much. Then everyone came home and we started on the Thanksgiving meal and setting up everything. The kids had fun wit the toys Chloris bought for them while we were doing that. Then the feast I think there was 20 adults there. The Mullins always invite people over. It was so fun getting to know these other people that came. And having other kids was awesome. Belle seemed to be always crying and Cash seemed to be always laughing. THE MEAL WAS OHHHH SO GOOD! And again I have to thank Chloris she made everything DAIRY FREE! ummm she is the most thoughtful person. Thank you so much Chloris, that meant a lot to me. That night we all watched The Last Air Bender and ate a lot more, hahahaha Kaito and I ate like 12 sandwiches!!! Then we all told scary stories- I don't know how that happen but Nate and I were freaked out! Oh I love this family. Then we went to bed again wayyyyy tooo late!

We left the day after Thanksgiving but before we left the most sad thing happened and I am not even sure why I am sharing this but there was a deer that got stuck on their fence at first I thought oh great picture, good story- cause I thought that Rhett and Monkey would just go help the deer get his leg off the fence and it would go running away happy... It took them forever to get the deer's leg off while we were waiting Cash was like cracking up and trying to grab their dog Buddy. We looked back out the window and they finally got the Deer off and it's leg was like a noodle ohhh saddest thing I have ever seen. We were all so disturb and sad. They had to put the deer down... ah it was awful.

To make us feel better on the way back home we stopped a Schriner Farms! This man owns all these exotic animals; zebras, giraffes, ostriches, wallaroos, camels, etc. It is free to go look at the animals and we loved it, we got to see baby zebras, which I never have seen before. Belle loved the camels. It was really weird to see camels in the snow. This place I am definitely coming back to in the summer.

When we got back from The Dalles as I am making a tradition "the day after Thanksgiving" we got a tree and came home and had green waffles and red eggs! haha they do not look tasty at all but they were so good. At least Belle liked them she ate a huge waffle and a half of one! Then Belle painted Christmas ornaments. I think we might have a painter on our hands, she is really good. Then we put up our decorations and played Christmas music and Belle danced around the tree. There were so many sweet moments I got one on camera. I wish Cash wasn't in bed for this he would have loved the lights and eating with us! But when he saw the tree in the morning it was just as good- he screamed at it and tried to eat it. Then little Belle came out and sat by him telling him all about the tree.

I love holidays. Summer is incredibly fun but nothing like this time of year. This is cheesy but everything is so magical this time of year. I am in love with it. Tonight we did a Family Home Evening about Christ's birth and I showed the nativity and Belle was trying to stick her hands through the TV trying to hold baby Jesus. She ran and got her own baby and rocked it and I asked her, "okay Belle why do we celebrate Christmas?" she said "because of Jesus he was a baby!" We tried to teach her how important it is to be kind and loving and how we need to be like Jesus, and Belle said, "Oh I'm trying to be like Jesus Mom!" (and Cash was just yelling and trying to roll under the table!)

I love this time of year! There is so much to be thankful for!
