My Paige Rae is 1 year old! WHAT? I can't believe it's been a year with Paige! She is quite the girl. I have been thinking of our past year with her and how crazy it has been... first I got meningitis, gave meningitis to Paige, She had to be in the hospital, Belle and Cash sickness frenzy, spent a lot of time at OHSU, went to court and got a man thrown in jail, Monkey studied his life away for boards, Parents got home from their mission, kids got whooping cough, Monkey studied more, Monkey took boards and passed, gang fights, planted a garden, N side gang at my door, is Storm here?! Ha, and the list goes on! So I would have to say Paige's first year of life has been quite the year!
Paige has changed so incredibly much, Paige as a newborn was easy but very hard. She would sleep only if I was by her. She hated when I wasn't holding her. She would scream if I was not inches from her. She was very quite and observant! She looked at everything with pure wonder. She hardly ever smiled- hahah especially at other people. She would just stare at them. Very serious child. Now WOW is she different. She is so hilarious- Paige is so loud. She talks non stop... Especially to her Dada. She will hold a phone to her ear and say, "Oh hi Dada.. huuuuh huh Dada!" She says, Mama, Dada, This, and ah oh! She growls and scrunches her nose and breathes in and out really fast through her nose! She LOVES peek a boo and patty cake! She does it perfect. She blows kisses but most the time it looks like she is doing the Lolly pop thing sounds and everything! To die for! She wrestles and chases Belle and Casg around the house laughing hysterical. She throws fits like no other... Well like Belle! She even does the whole throwing herself on the ground arching her back screaming and kicking when she doesn't get what she wants... it drive me nuts! haha but for the most part I just shake my head, smile, and walk away!
Although she can throw fits I have never in all my life met such a sweet heart! Paige loves to make facial expressions! She imitates people crazy, especially when singing! Paige pretends to move her mouth like she is lip syncing!! Now that she is no longer breast feeding she will cuddle so bad, never before which is weird... She will pull things off my lap and pull herself on my lap and lay down in my arms and nestle in! She laughs sooo much! And most the time at herself. She is STRONG! Like holy cow reached over the huge blockade I had so she couldn't go up the stairs. and grabbed the railing of the stairs and using just her arms lifted he 25 pound body up and over it and pulled her self over the stairs... escape artist! I am so in love with her!
Her birthday was celebrated a lot! We first went to the beach....of course! We spent the day flying kites, strolling through ocean water, clapping at the waves, and laughing at Paige trying ice cream for the first time and finding it to be way too strange!
Her birthday morning Paige woke up to balloons and Marshmallow cereal and blueberries! I bet you can guess who picked that.... My favorite was when she opened my Mom and Dad's card and saw a dollar! Hhaha her mouth dropped wide open and she reached out to show me so excited! Paige is by far the best with reactions and gratitude so far!!! For lunch the kids picked Mc'D'S so Paige could have her very own happy meal- like she downed!!! She loves apple juice this was also her first time having juice! I think Paige likes apple juice more than cake and ice cream! During her nap I made her cake and we tried to not eat it before Monkey got home from clinic! Dad finally got home and Paige opened her gift! A little purple zebra... She was ecstatic! Pure happiness and smiles. We call it ZEBEE, cause that's what Paige says trying to say zebra! I love giving this girl things!!! We had cake which Belle lost for a while for being pretty sassy and yelling! She eventually earned a sliver of cake!
Finally we celebrated with some of the kids friends. We went to the "PEACOCK HIDEOUT" the kids call it! We ate cupcakes and spent all day catching newts that aren't poisonous.... mind you!!! We caught so many like 18 of them! We got really dirty! It was a blast. Paige was amazed and not quite sure how she felt about the newt things! She kept saying, "ohhh this... ahhh oh this!" and pointing her finger at it... her eyes would get huge and mouth in a 0 shape and say "AHH OH!" then scrunch her face up and sniff over and over! It was so hilarious. We saw so many animals there, obviously peacocks, a eagle, a raccoon, and a vulture that I did not get a picture of. ..
Paige I think had a great birthday... But I think it was hard for me! This past year flew by and Paige has grown and changed so much! At times I just want time to stand still for a moment so I can enjoy this little girl like this a little longer. I don't know what I would do without Paige. She makes everyday so precious!
I love you so much Paige!
Happy Birthday

Wow! One-year-old already!?! I can't believe it.
What a gorgeous girl and a gorgeous cake too.
You're going to have to tell me where that peacock hideout is. We've never been there before.
Happy Birthday, Paige!
