After Monkey's graduation we packed up our things and headed off to a NEW adventure for three years. We drove 8 hours to a place called Alamogordo, New Mexico!!! Coming from Oregon, Utah, and Colorado... entering this place was a bit of a culture shock! Especially through the Valley of Fire! Pure desert. I was thinking what the heck has Monkey gotten us into this time! My beyond sweet father drove with me and led the way! It was so kind of him. He was laughing cause I think my eyeballs almost feel out of my head when I saw that maybe something green grew.... MAYBE! We pulled up to our temporary house and I just took a deep breathe and totally skidded right into our friends car! LOVELY.... I bawled! I am pregnant give me a break! Then I breathed again and began semi unpacking. We were on the waiting list for a house on base and in July I was headed back to Colorado to stay a month while Monkey went to Officers training in Alabama.
A couple days past and I started to actually feel good about this desert! We had a bird that lived on our house, which the kids named .... I forgot.... and they would watch her everyday and they would try to find lizards. We were so pumped knowing around the corner from our temp house had a splash park!We found and love our little library and spend hours at the pool. It is hot!!! 105-110ish in summer... which I am prego and not use to! The pool was awesome! The kids seriously jumped in and started to swim! Fantastic. We found incredible parks... that in summer only 20 minutes can we last! And we found that our new get away is the mountains! our pure beauty and it's like 30 degrees cooler it feels! And has delicious treats! Creamy root beer, fresh fruit, and in the ole town... bread dipped in crazy olive oils and delicious balsamic combos! Hiking is so much fun.... I love watching the kids find new species of insects and animals and running up and down trails! Having picnics in the middle of the wilderness and talking about everything they were so excited to see. I also love Belles new love of writing and drawing her thoughts and feelings in her journals! I really think we are going to love our New home of New Mexico!
And Paige Rae turned 2 years old!
Paige is how do I even describe this child?? Paige is absolutely a DOLL! She is funny, happy, loud, sassy, smart, curious, talkative, loveable, tender, etc! She reminds me of a little hobbit that is so full of life!
what Paige loves
Movie: doesn't like to watch anything, but loves Cinderella the princess
Food: Cereal, cheese sticks, watermelon, ranch dressing not the veggies, veggie sticks, Popsicles, yogurt, and anything with sugar! Suckers and Marshmallows mostly
Thing: She loves anything BABY! Baby animals, baby, insects, baby blankets, BABY DOLLS! Holy cow she is a mother! She also loves Monkeys and Princesses! She LOVES BOOKS! She will sit with a book for ever and pretend to read! It is the most darling thing in the world! And she really likes when people don't mess with her toys or her! She doesn't like to share very much.and boy does she have lungs to scream at you if you do!
Color: PINK and BLUE
Attached to: HER MOTHER.... For real! She does not like to leave my side. I feel like I am stepping on her all day! She has a bit of separation issues with me. She HATES nursery.... screams worse than bloody murder. The poor teachers. If I am around and within touching reach all is well! She seems to be getting a bit better. She does not like strangers!
Song- I am a child of God, Rain Rain go away, Numa Numa, and Tempole (I love to see the Temple)... She is singing constantly... and her voice sounds like a chipmunk and I love it!
Fun things- Paige loves to point her finger at me, tlit her head to the side a little, raise her eye brows, open her eyes wide and tell me what she is about to do.... then she tells me... she waits with her finger still pointed and says "OK?" and buckles her lip in!
Oh I love that. Paige lovvvves her dad! When Monkey comes home it is almost like its Christmas! she hugs him and kisses him and sometimes bawls if he lets her go.
She really likes to draw.... and she gets so proud of her drawings!
She takes care of whoever is hurt, crying, mad, etc... holds their face in her little hands and asks them if they are okay and hugs them.... and stay by them till they are ok! It is so precious
She talks to herself... especially when she is playing... Her toys are real! Her baby doll takes a nap at least 20 times a day!
She always is giving kisses and laughs and smiles soooo hard after!
PAIGE RAE MELTS MY HEART!!!! It is a good thing too cause she can throw the world's biggest throw yourself on the floor tantrum.... and can turn into the worlds biggest sweet heart in seconds when I become frustrated and it make me chill out and laugh!!!
I love you Paige so incredibly much!!!

Mamie! Your kids are so cute and so are you! It is really hot there, but it will be really awesome around Halloween and Thanksgiving. When I as a kid I had a jean jacket for a winter coat and didn't own any gloves or hats! Have you been to White Sands yet? They have really awesome full moon programs where you can be there as the sun is going down and it isn't so hot. I bet your kids would love it.
Your kids are cute. Paige will get over the clingingness Curt did the same thing when I was expecting Marie. Enjoy almagardo yes its hot but won't be as cold as Utah or callardo.
cute, cute, cute! I love seeing pictures of your sweet little sweeties, and I am happy you are learning to love desert life. We're still getting there, ha ha! I have two pictures from my childhood where I look EXACTLY like Miss Paige-y pants. I'll send them too you when I can. For reals, we must be related or something.
