The Love Fairy!

Happy Valentine’s Day! Somehow Valentine’s Day has gotten to be a pretty big deal in my house. I think it’s because of my Mom. One Valentine’s my Mom left a basket full of candy and a stuffed animal and a movie called “Love Tales” with Mickey Mouse. I thought it was the coolest thing. I must have been like 7 or 8 years old (actually I have no idea) but other than my age I can remember it perfectly. I promised myself that when I had kids I would do the same thing my Mom did… and I have. I get so excited for Valentine’s! Belle got so excited for “CUPID” to come. I told her it’s only Mommy and Daddy but to make it fun we will pretend it is Cupid the LOOOVE FAIRY!  She got so excited all month she kept saying, “Mom guess what!!!  CUPID’S coming! So Valentine’s finally rolled around and I have to say the meals I prepared were pretty lame this year. I forgot to go to the store. So for breakfast we had homemade heart pancakes and fruit. Lunch was pitiful hahah we had bananas and top ramen cut into a heart!!! Hahaha dinner was a little more exciting. But we will talk about that later. After lunch Monkey came home earlier than normal and CUPID came. Cupid got the bath books, little, buckets, candy, and cute Valentines/Birthday outfits (thanks to Grandpa, Grandma, and aunt Jac!!! Thank you guys!!! They looked so cute in their outfits!)  Cash had his first sucker and he was like on a sugar high! He acted like it was the best thing he has ever had. Belle ate both Cash’s and her skittles! The played forever with their target dollar spot stuff, which made it even more awesome!! Later of course as our family tradition we made sugar cookies and decorated them… We did a lot this time! After the kids went to bed Monkey had to study so I decided to make dinner fun even though we celebrated our Valentine’s the weekend before. So I was excited because Monkey had no idea, he thought I was just making burgers.  And I have to say dinner  was a lot better than the rest of the meals that day. We had steak topped with shrimp, scalloped potatoes, and an awesome salad. Martinelli’s to drink and Josh Groban playing as usual! I rented a really sappy love movie… which I love sappy love movies and believe it or not Monkey actually liked it too!! I love Valentine’s! I don’t know why… I love my family everyday… but Valentine’s Monkey actually gets a break from school and we all get to be together, the kids love when Daddy can just be with them… so it’s special day for us. I know what I am about to write will make people sick but I never thought I would actually get my fairy tale come true. Monkey is the best thing that has and will ever happen to me. I just love him and my kids so much! Happy V Day!
